holy shit this thing pulls you in and won't let go! Like one of those really bad trips where you mine the depths of despair but accidentally stumble into some forgotten beautiful truth before crashing back to earth. Psychedelic Black Metal. I'm entranced.

"HRŮZA ZVÍTĚZÍ ("horror will prevail") has been created as a monument to death. Not a fantastical death with promises something beyond this world, but the cessation of being which looms at the end of all lives. As I wrote the songs which became HRŮZA ZVÍTĚZÍ, I was obsessed by my own death, constantly fighting off panic attacks relating to dying, and living in a constant suffocating dread. Every section was written with the explicit goal of conveying this dread, while also pushing my own limits as an artist. Retrospectively, I believe this album to have been meditative and liberating for me: much of the anxiety that once plagued me is now enshrined here, forever".

Take the absolute single-mindedness and primitive savagery of Thecodontion and combine it with the deranged and psychedelic ritualistic leanings of Beherit’s ambient explorations, and you might have an idea of what to expect on Plague Organ’s Orphan. While some people might hear excessive repetition, I instead take this to be devotion to an immersive and harrowing journey, any escape from which is impossible once started. This is the perfect album to plunge you into total abjection. Ippocalyptica
This album is like staring into a possessed mirror. You see your reflection, it's somewhat human, but in the background, demons are viciously clawing at your back. Definitely going to make my year end list for 2021. Robert C. Kozletsky
